Honing of tooth flanks

Honing the tooth flanks of spur gears is an additional machining step in order to significantly improve running smoothness and thus increase the life time. The honing process is used for spur gears subject to the highest loads. Tooth corrections, such as longitudinal crowning and head relief, can also be honed with an appropriate honing stone..

  • outer diameter of spur gear up to 150 mm (larger up on request)
  • spur gear length up to 250 mm (up to 500 mm depending on the position of the gearing)
  • tooth width up to 80 mm
  • modul 1 bis 6
  • gear quality according to ISO 1328 up to quality 3
